I think that the Timeshare market in the USA is very different to the European market. There does seem to be many disputes going on and Timeshare is a dirty word here, There is not an effective regulatory authority as a result there are too many scams taking place.

Owning, selling and marketing Timeshares need to be modified. Timeshares are known for their Lesuire pace with travelers and contracts that aren’t as adaptable as they need to be.

Since time sharing is such of a dirty word, The industry does not get the respect it deserves. Orlando was built on the timeshare business and timeshare developments can bring huge dollars to the local economy. If government and politicians took advantage of this you could expand economies world wide. But the industry is its own death nell because of all of the fraud, deceit and misrepresentation. Could you imagine if timeshares were as reputable as other real estate? If that ever happens the upside potential to timeshare developers and to the expansion of local economies would be limitless. For this to happen you have to stop all of the fraud, deceit an misrepresentation. You also have to give owners anexit strategy and stop the dumping of free timeshares on the internet. As long as you have a situation where owners give away their timeshares the industry will never get any respect. The ARDC should urge timeshare developers nationwide to adopt a nationwide exit strategy where owners can turn back their timeshare to the develper or management company upon the payment of 3 years of dues upfront.
