Does anyone know anything about the recent financial problems related to this resort group, which has about five resorts in British Columbia?

My husband (recently deceased) and I have been timeshare members there for about 8 years, and I was just recently notified of court actions. I saw the listing for Owners Perspective on my deceased husband’s email, and decided it might be a good idea to check it out, so I am registered primarily to keep track of what is happening with existing timeshares we own ( Marriott, ©roupo Mayan, and Aviawest)

It looks like they have been granted creditor protection in the BC courts while they reorganize their debt. It should allow them to restructure financially and come out of the process on stronger financial footing. It appears that all of their resorts are operating as normal and operations are unaffected by the proceedings. These things can happen, such as the recent case with Island One Resorts in the States. You may want to contact the resort directly to see what specific information they can give you. Hope this helps.

    Hi Rosalie,

We appreciate your concern. A letter explaining the situation was sent to owners last week. Please let us know if you have not received it.

All Aviawest properties continue to operate as usual and Aviawest ownership holdings are unaffected by the CCAA filing. For future updates please visit:
