Ripple Unveils Pregnancy Massage
Mums-to-be can relax at home now and enjoy the experience of an in-home massage, as Ripple expands its pregnancy massage services. “Being a mum is magic, but pregnancy can put a big strain on your body,” said Alison Shaw, owner of Ripple Massage. “Muscles can ache, feet can get swollen and sometimes pregnant mums just need a little pampering and care. “Pregnancy massage relieves muscle spasms and cramps that come with carrying the extra weight of a bub and other physical changes that occur during pregnancy. “It also reduces the stress in the mother’s joints and other bone structures, and the health of both the mother and baby are enhanced by the increase of blood and lymph circulation, the reduction in edema and by increasing cellular respiration.” Ripple specialises in pregnancy massage, and its therapists are professionally trained to provide safe, relaxing treatments for all clients in their second or third trimesters. Packages include all the free day spa extras that Ripple has become known for, including cleansing facemasks and walnut exfoliation. www.ripplemassage.com.au

Dracula’s Cabaret Circus Launches ‘Transfusion’
Transfusion, the latest production from Dracula’s Cabaret Circus on the Gold Coast, injects the audience with a hypnotic dose of 21st century pop-acid vaudeville. This fast-paced variety show takes the audience on a thrilling journey that combines side-alley spectacle, novelty comedy acts and all the ‘wow’ that you would expect at a rock concert. Transfusion is a carefully choreographed evening of entertainment that includes aerial acrobatics with a fetish twist and freak show madness, in a jazz club atmosphere. The live music begins with smoky soul, leads into rave party DJ rhythms and reaches its crescendo during the retro rock finale. Dracula’s is re-branding to incorporate the title “Cabaret Circus”, which is more apt in capturing the energy and outrageous antics of the wait staff and cast. www.draculas.com.au

Alleys Restaurant Makes a Sustainable Difference
The chefs at Alleys Restaurant, Currumbin RSL have created a vegetable and herb garden at the Club with seasonal menus to suit. Inspired to support local producers; much of the produce, if not from the veggie patch, is sourced locally with benefits noticed through tastes and the flavours. Club CEO Anne Stovin is a firm advocate for sustainable living and in 2009, together with key staff, embarked on a journey to make the Currumbin RSL more sustainable. Initially focusing on water, energy and waste management, the Club has now moved its focus to Alleys restaurant, with ‘Slow Food’ being the order of the day. The inclusion of a worm farm on the grounds in late 2011 has not only assisted greatly in waste management but is also a great source of fertiliser for the veggie patch. There’s already another vegetable garden in the process to keep up with demand and a compost area is also under way. www.currumbinrsl.com.au
