Get Natural, Go Swiss At RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, 3-8 July 2012
July 3, 2012This summer, a touch of purely natural Switzerland is coming to England.
The first ever Swiss Alpine Garden will bloom at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower show. Visitors will be immersed in a world mountain flowers, crystal clear waters and impressive rock faces, within the historical grounds of Hampton Court Palace just outside London.
In cooperation with Switzerland Tourism, Switzerland Cheese Marketing/Gruyere and Ricola, the garden will deliver a delightful microcosm of natural Swiss beauty and well-being, featuring flora used in herbal and natural remedies. It also celebrates the primary reasons for UK tourists to visit Switzerland in summer: the mountains, the walking and hiking, and Switzerland`s unparalleled natural beauty.
To award-winning landscape designer Sadie May Stowell, winner of Channel 4 national garden design competition ‘The Great Garden Challenge’ in 2005, Switzerland`s pristine landscape is a true inspiration. “I wanted to provide a real feel of the high alpine landscape of Switzerland, so we are reflecting that environment as far as possible, but using plants and materials from the UK”.
