Medical Tourism To The Czech Republic
May 22, 2012The country was ranked higher than in previous years and appears as one of the most attractive countries especially in cosmetic surgery and obesity treatments.
The latest survey of medical tourism “2012 Treatment Abroad Medical Tourism Survey” used opinions of more than a thousand patients and happened to be the largest research of its kind in Europe.
It was conducted by www.treatmentabroad.com, the leading guide on health tourism and its Czech partner www.healthczech.com operated by Progress Medical.
Key conclusions:
• 60% of medical tourists coming to the Czech Republic for cosmetic surgery, 18% for obesity treatment and 15% for the infertility treatment
• The most popular destination for cosmetic treatments is Belgium (23%) followed by the Czech Republic (14%) and Turkey (10%), obesity surgery is similar – Belgium (50%) followed by the Czech Republic (22%)
• The most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the Czech Republic is breast augmentation and tummy tuck
