Airport Parking And Hotels (APH.Com) Compares Late Season Cost Of Equipment Hire At Top 10 European Ski Resorts

March 24, 2012

With the heavy snowfall in European ski resorts during the past few weeks, coupled with the amazing ski deals still available and some resorts announcing extensions to the season until May, now is the ideal time for that last minute getaway to the slopes. Airport Parking and Hotels (APH.COM) aims to help skiers and snowboarders save money on ski hire equipment, by comparing hire companies in the most popular European ski resorts. The research is available in the Know Before You Go section of the website, at www.aph.com/skihire.

The research compares the price of hiring ski and snowboard equipment for one week in the top 10 European resorts which include Chamonix, Meribel, St Anton and Verbier.

Of the four online booking agents surveyed, Snow Rental was found to be the overall cheapest across all resorts, charging from £33.23 for Economy Skis (suitable for beginners) and £70.92 for Premium Skis (suitable for advanced skiers) however this does not include boots. With regards to snowboard equipment, the cheapest weekly option was £43.64 in La Plagne, France.

The most expensive ski equipment was found to be available through Ski Set, at a cost of £205.25 with the Premium package in Verbier. With regards to snowboard equipment, Ski Set was found to be the most expensive again, but this time in Zermatt, Switzerland. Verbier and Zermatt, the only two Swiss resorts in the top 10 and St Anton in Austria, were found to be the most expensive resorts, with the cheapest option available with Snow Rental at £94.11, £76.15 and £94.22 respectively for the Discovery package.
