Excitement is now building in Brighton and Maastricht for the first of our new International Chef Exchange programme.

Chef Audrey Eussen of Beaumont Hotel in Maastricht is scheduled to arrive in Brighton for a busy week of food festival experiences in the week running up to Easter. Drakes Hotel and The Restaurant at Drakes are playing host to Chef Audrey for her visit and Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival directors Andrew Kay and Nick Mosley and Carla ter Maat of Drakes are busy putting together a programme of visits to local food and drink producers and local restaurants.

‘We want to make sure that Chef Audrey gets the full picture of what Brighton and Hove and Sussex have to offer for food lovers. Having met her in Maastricht, tasted her food and experienced her passion for local and seasonal produce, I am sure she will be excited by what we have to offer.’ says Andrew

Her visit will culminate with two public events. On Wednesday April 4 Audrey will be at the helm in Chef Andrew Mackenzie’s kitchen at The Restaurant at Drakes with a showcase dinner featuring the dishes that have made her one of the stars of the Maastricht culinary scene. On Good Friday she will appear on stage at the Live Food Show with Andrew Kay for a free public demonstration of her cooking skills.
