The Hills Of Spain Are Alive With Wildfitness’
February 1, 2012As the New Year begins, it is dark, grey and miserable outside and the desire to disconnect from our natural habitat can turn us into “zoo humans,” suffering depression, lack of energy and frequent sickness as a result. It is time to take action, by taking control of our health and wellbeing. Help is at hand from the Wildfitness team, with the launch of their newest retreat in AndalucĂa, from March 2012.
Wildfitness Spain is run on a huge estate near Arcos de la Frontera- 1250 acres of half wild areas and half agricultural rolling hills of sunflowers, olive groves, and wheat fields. Guests stay in the rooms of a17th century Cortijo near the pretty village of Arcos de la Frontera. The Cortijo has 16 bedrooms, arranged around a courtyard hung with grape vines and shaded by orange trees. Each bedroom is equipped with heating, modern bathrooms and breath-taking views of the wild surrounding hills. The accommodation is a rare mix of authenticity, style, homeliness and comfort. Listed on several eco-friendly sites, they even harvest their own honey, herbs and olive oil. There are plenty of places to relax too, including gardens scented with the aroma of jasmine and hibiscus creepers, a beautiful pool and communal rooms with fires, including a library and ‘retire to drink brandy’ (or herbal tea).
The one week boost (or life changing two week revitalise) is just what is needed to kick start your fitness regime for 2012. The schedule is packed with workshops covering movement, metabolism and nutrition, key skills classes and 2 daily adventurous training sessions. You will feel your body changing and will have learnt the basic tools for improving your training when you return home.
