Football Fiesta At La Manga Club

February 1, 2012

Sun-seeking holidaymakers aren’t the only ones heading to La Manga Club this winter with a host of top football sides visiting the five-star resort on the hunt for silverware.

The next 11 weeks will see the La Manga Club host seven tournaments featuring both international teams and top professional clubs looking for some competitive practice.

Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk, who reached the group stages of this year’s UEFA Champions League, will be competing in the Copa del Sol alongside FC Anzhi, of Russia, and a quartet of Scandinavian sides.

International tournaments for men and women, ranging from under-17 to under-23, will see sides representing 15 nations visit the resort, and this is just part of La Manga Club’s busiest footballing period of the year.

During the first three months of 2012, 82 different teams will stay, play and train at the five-star resort.
