New Bedroom Wing Opened For 2012 At The Coniston Hotel

In the face of the recession, a leading Yorkshire Dales hotel has taken the bold step to increase its bedroom stock by 40% to cater for increased demand from business guests and short break customers.

Part of a multi-million development at The Coniston Hotel at Coniston Cold near Skipton, the 21 new bedrooms take the overall number of bedrooms and suites at The Coniston to 71.

The new bedrooms were first used by some very special guests – 14 partners from the Leeds office of leading accountants and business advisers Baker Tilly. According to The Coniston Hotel’s chairman, Michael Bannister, there was a very special reason why the Baker Tilly team were invited to be the first to stay in the new bedrooms as, 14 years ago when the hotel was first built, they were also the first guests through its doors, and have been coming ever since for their annual partners’ away-days as well as many other events.

Tim Parr, a partner at Baker Tilly who specialises in the food, drink and construction sectors for the accountants, was the organiser of the meeting, and was also personally involved back in 1997. “It’s wonderful to see how the hotel has developed and we have enjoyed being a small part of the story”, he said. “The team at the hotel have always looked after us well, and the place is ideal for our partners to meet and discuss business in this fantastic rural environment”.
