Gold Coast Stands Up For Its People And Reputation
Gold Coast residents and industry have stood up this week to show that Australia’s sixth largest city and tourism capital is no longer an easy target for crime and criticism.
Gold Coast Tourism Chairman Paul Donovan said that after a number of incidents which have tarnished the Gold Coast’s image, the response from locals and industry figures this week has been clear.
“Around 8000 people rallied this week to show support for our police service and make it clear that the Gold Coast is a community of positive and welcoming people who will not accept abhorrent behaviour on our streets, this is a measure of the genuine integrity which outside commentators seem to forget exists on the Gold Coast,” he said.
