Getting better and better
Divi Resorts is an exclusively Caribbean resort group with 11 resorts on six Caribbean islands: Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Cayman Brac, St Croix, and St Maarten. Already having the advantage of beautiful unique locales, Divi has been busy modernizing and improving all the resorts in the portfolio to create truly world-class vacation destinations and innovative vacation ownership products.
Divi wraps a major renovation and expansion program in 2011. In Aruba, Divi completed the final phase of a $50 million project at the Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort including new luxury golf view suites and 45 full ownership condominiums; and began renovations on the resort’s original 162 units. The Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort added 140 new luxury beachfront suites on the white sands of Palm Beach complete with freshwater pools and trendy Pure Beach Restaurant. The Divi Little Bay Beach Resort in St Maarten got a total refresh in 2009; and the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort in Bonaire renovated all suites in late 2010.
The Divi signature look and feel in all renovations is about modern luxury, featuring natural stone tile, stainless steel appliances, flat screen televisions, and of course – private balconies with tropical views and island breezes.
Despite the slow economy, 2010 was a strong year for Divi Resorts, with some of the highest timeshare sales on record. Divi credits the success to the company’s focus on product improvement.
So what’s new for 2011? Divi is expanding into niche markets, and creating new vacation ownership programs to meet the changing demands of today’s timeshare owners.
“We’re very confident in the quality of our physical product after our renovation programs. We’ve got beautiful resorts in some breathtaking locations,” says Mark Steward, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Divi Hotels Marketing, Inc. “Now we’re looking closely at how our guests vacation, and creating new vacation ownership programs to meet their needs.
Timesharing today is about flexibility and unique experiences.”
Divi Resorts now offers a Vacation Club program with flexible travel options allowing owners to vacation at any Divi Caribbean resort, or trade into over 3,500 resorts worldwide in the RCI Points exchange program. [member]
Responding to today’s vacationer interest in unique experiences, Divi is expanding their vacation ownership program in Bonaire. The Divi Flamingo Beach Resort in Bonaire already has a well established reputation in the scuba dive market, and is offering a new vacation ownership program this year appealing to both divers and non-divers. “It’s become a very overstimulating world, and we find guests are now often seeking those ‘off-the-beaten-track’ destinations that give them true relaxation opportunities.”
Says Mark Steward. “Bonaire is perfect. At only 24 miles long, you won’t see a single traffic light. But you’ll find a welcoming culture, the feeling of a remote island getaway, and all the modern conveniences of a Divi Resort.”
Aptly named the “Divers Paradise,” Bonaire is world-renowned for scuba diving and snorkeling. With 86 dive sites, the island is repeatedly rewarded for the healthy underwater life that is fostered by a history of marine preservation and environmental consciousness. But Bonaire also has unlimited charms above water- including unspoiled natural parks, a flamingo habitat, and a small capital city that is laid-back cool.
The colorful Divi Flamingo Beach Resort in Bonaire mirrors the underwater rainbow of Bonaire’s marine life. Bright sunshine, hues of pink and ocean blue greet guests at a Divi that defines itself by relaxation and world-class scuba diving.
Divi Flamingo encompasses 129 newly renovated guestrooms and vacation ownership studios. Vibrant guestrooms are oceanfront or surrounded by tropical gardens. Studios surround a sparkling freshwater pool and offer fully equipped kitchens and private balconies. The Divi Flamingo Beach Resort leads diving adventures with Divi Dive Bonaire- a PADI five star dive operation on site. Divi Dive Bonaire provides five custom dive boats, dive training, and an experienced dive crew.
Dining options at Divi Flamingo include the open-air Calabas Restaurant, a perfect spot for breakfast by the beach. The Chibi Chibi restaurant, extending on piers over the water, serves inventive lunches and gourmet dinners while guests soak up stunning ocean views.
Guests enjoy two freshwater pools, water sports rental, a full service activities coordinator, spa, and an intimate casino. Onsite car rental is available for exploring the laid-back charms of Bonaire. Shore divers and snorkelers delight in the house reef, which is accessible directly from the Flamingo beach, the only resort access beach on Bonaire.
