Celebrity chefs, vintners and foodies gather for the Caribbean’s premier food and wine event
The grounds of Divi Carina Bay All-Inclusive Beach Resort, St. Croix’s only all-inclusive property, provided an idyllic beachfront setting on April 14 for the more than 1,500 culinary enthusiasts who attended this year’s A Taste of St. Croix. Those who descended upon the resort had a chance to see their favorite celebrity chefs and sample delectable Caribbean dishes. Restaurants, visiting vintners and celebrity chefs set up sampling stations along the beach, around the pool and under canopies decorated with twinkling lights, creating one of the most picturesque culinary events anywhere.
The annual tasting and culinary competition, which showcases the island’s diverse cuisine, has been hailed as “one of the 10 best international food events in the world” by Forbes Travel. Now in its 11th year, A Taste of St. Croix began as a single event and has since led to the week-long celebration known as the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience. As a major fundraiser for the St. Croix Foundation, A Taste of St. Croix helps foster economic, social and cultural development on the island.
