BonaireWebcams.com has recently completed the installation of a new weather station on Bonaire, which provides much greater detail about what is happening on Bonaire, weather-wise. The weather station is state-of-the-art equipment, and it’s located in Belnem, just south of the Flamingo International Airport. With the new weather station coming on-line, there are now new data points for the following categories, with updates each minute: Temperature, Humidity, Wind Speed (mph), Wind Direction, Wind Chill, Barometer, Total Rain for the current year, Current Solar Radiation, and UV Index (for those who sunburn easily). Bonaire Wellness Connexions now offers a new Bonaire Goat Cheese Farm Bicycle Tour, available every Wednesday. Specifically designed for nature and cycling lovers, this unique bicycle tour provides the opportunity to see the wonders of Bonaire from a bicycle, viewing amazing vistas and local farms. Bonaire Windsurf Place reports the arrival of a special delivery of Roberto Ricci (RRD) twin fin boards for Bonaire Windsurf Place. These new twin fin Fire-ride boards have been specially built to meet the specific needs for windsurfing in Lac-Bay. As the bay consists of two areas–a deep area and a waist-deep area, these boards have been designed in a twin fin configuration, so that windsurfers can use the smaller fins and still keep their handling, instead of one larger fin. Dive Friends Bonaire is pleased to announce their next Instructor Development Course (IDC) will begin on June 7th and continue through June 15th, 2010 for those looking to become a professional diver with teaching capabilities. The Instructor Exam conducted by PADI will immediately follow on June 16th and 17th. Dive Friends will be offering the new E-Learning option for this IDC, which allows candidates to save time and travel expenses by taking advantage of home-study methods. They then may report to the IDC on the third day (June 9th, 2010), for completion of the program with Dive Friend’s course director. Buddy Dive Resort is proudly hosting the second annual Buddy Dive Freediving Event Bonaire. Last year Karol Meyer broke the South American record on Bonaire by reaching a depth of 93 meters/305 feet, with the help of her coach and friend, Patrick Musimu. This past May, Buddy Dive welcomed Karol and Patrick back again as their guests to attempt new world records, including the Tandem No Limit Category. They beat the prior record, reaching 121 meters/397 feet. Eager to share their passion for freediving with others, Karol and Patrick will give presentations and a freediving clinic.
