Diamond Resorts International® Hosts Royal Williamsburg Celebrity Chef Event

May 28, 2010

Global hospitality and vacation ownership company hosted more than 200 guests earlier this month in grand style at The Historic Powhatan Resort

Diamond Resorts International® (DRI), a global leader in the hospitality and vacation ownership industries, hosted their first ever celebrity chef event at The Historic Powhatan Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, earlier this month. [menber]

Featuring Royal Chef Darren McGrady, former private chef to Princess Diana and senior chef in the Royal kitchens at Buckingham Palace, the Royal Williamsburg Weekend was held over the Mother’s Day weekend and featured two nightly events including a wine tasting by the Williamsburg Winery, entertainment, a lively presentation, book signing and meet and greet by Chef McGrady and a well-prepared and fully served dinner prepared on-site at The Historic Powhatan Resort by resident Chef Julia Fitchett, presently the Chef de Cuisine at The Kitchen at The Historic Powhatan Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.

According to Stephen J. Cloobeck, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, “Diamond Resorts International® is always exploring new and exciting opportunities for our owners, members and guests and having hosted our first ever celebrity chef event, the feedback has been tremendous. We had guests who attended the event on Friday evening inquiring how to obtain tickets for Saturday’s event; and that is a testament to the type of activities our customers want to participate in while staying with us. Throughout the weekend, our team members were approached by guests asking when and where the next event was going to be. Not only were they satisfied with the weekend getaway they booked at The Historic Powhatan Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia, they were looking forward to receiving information and reserving their tickets for the next Diamond celebrity event.”

Diamond Resorts International® has plans to schedule celebrity chef events in cities throughout its managed resort network and are currently exploring a harvest festival themed event for Williamsburg, a late summer getaway to the Red Rock Country of Arizona with further preparations taking place for a Royal Hawaiian Holiday Weekend later in 2010.
